I was buying sliced ham in those little packs when I noticed the price on that one was 6.66--I put it back and got another one tha was 6.69. If my bill totals 6.66 I give them 6.70 or 6.75 and say keep the change. Am I the only one that does that ?? Any other odd things ya'll do?

First let me say I think they should outlaw Black Friday ! I think it has got out of hand. When people are pushing and fighting over saving a dollar or two--it's time to think about a different plan. Just have a day after Tsgiving sale. Have enough sale items for a lot of people with a limit on how many each person can get. The first one to push, shove, fight,cuss etc-is evicted from the store for 3 days !! Good heavens folks have we forgotten what Christmas is about??????????? Ok off the soap box

I know I need to write a new entry but just nothing new going on here. It's the holiday and I'm not a holiday person. This is kind of a hard year--my first since Mother died---she was the holiday person. Hope everyone is ready for Thanksgiving and has a big day

I'm slow on getting rid of all that stuff I told ya'll I was going to get rid of.  I look at things and remember when with it-then put it back. 2 of my Aunts always had the holiday dinners at their houses. They had all the crystal and tablecloths-cloth napkins--special bowls for each thing. I can look at those crystal bowls and remember which one had the crandberry sauce in it--etc--just hard to know what to do with it all. We only had a son--he doesnt want it--his wife didnt know any of these people( they died before she came along)  One of my sisters kids asked if they were worth anything !! well shes not getting them.Maybe I will just keep them and let son decide what to do when I'm gone.

Keep the memories-get rid of the stuff,,,,,,,,,,

You know all that "stuff" you save for "One of These Days" or special occasions--I am going thru mine-gathering it up and it will either be MY day or someone elses. I have stuff that has been put away for way to long !

Does anyone but me have trouble erasing people from my address book and their phone numbers once they die?? I was looking thru my cell phone yesterday and saw Mothers number. I just can't delete it--it was the phone number we when we were kids--all thru our lives. Dumb I guess but I just can't erase it. Also I lost a good friend last month--I cant erase her phone number or take her off my e mail list. Maybe it just takes a while. Just wondered if I was the only sentimental fool out here

I went for my yearly blood work--and of course my cholestrol was to high--but my thyroid(tsh) was about 3 times what it should have been. I knew I had felt bad but I didnt know it was that bad. The doctor upped my medicine and the nurse at the rest home told me it might take up to a month to get to feeling better. It just makes me feel real tired all the time. Finally got some rain down here and it's cooled off some so I can get out and do some things in the yard

There was a man at the rest home where my Aunt lives. He never had much company--I talked to him in passing. He was very quiet and a little confused at times. He died a couple of days ago.He has gotten some of the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen. 7-8 of them were brought to the rest home because no one wanted them. All those beautiful flowers but never anyone came to see him. I'm ashamed to say I was guilty of not stopping in to say good morning when I walked down the hall. But I think it's a lesson I will never forget. Please remember if you have a little time  stop in on someone sick or in the nursing home. We never know when we might make all the difference in that life. I hope I never forget .

Wow it has been a while since I posted. All summer there was nothing to talk about in Texas but the heat. It has cooled down some now. Just got a welcome call from my Dr.--he said the spot(skin) they thought might be cancer--wasn't !!!!!!!!!!!--That was such a relief. I guess I have just kind of been down and out since my Mom died--having trouble getting back into things. I do read your post and try to comment everyday. Almost October--where the heck did this summer go?
