  • Just a little rain in Texas this morning. Kind of cool but I'm enjoying the rain and being home--I'm taking a day off from the rest home to get caught up on my laundry and stuff !

  • It's cooooooold in Dallas....with hoooooot to come!

  • I know that it is hard to deal with parents and health issues when they don't live in the same town.  You can only do the best you can.  My mom wasn't happy that I suggested  an 'assisted living' apartment for her, but I couldn't be running  over to another town 4 or 5 times a week or more.  Sometimes in the middle of the night to take her to the ER.  (I was recovering from B-cancer surgery and radiation).  It just about wore me out.  Even where she was, I made many of runs and midnights runs.  I'm just not getting some of my health back as the meds for cancer, etc caused some big time problems.  So sending you  lots of hugs and understanding.

  • RYC Thank you, Maggie!! I am glad to be warned in case that happens again!!

As for your parents, I lived alone and I was losing ground healthwise, but I would not move. One day a friend reminded me that others were affected by my living alone for it worried them. So I decided that day to explore. The first place I asked about rfused me but referred me to this apartment complex. At first it was hard and I made lots of mistakes like letting a young family live in my house and they trashed it, but I was using the garage (double-dar) to store my stuff. When I realized I was going to have to evict them and make plans for the tremendous amount of stuff I had, it was scary. I had the help of a good friend and my beloved BIL. It took a period of four weeks to get the house sold and to rent a storage space and move only what would fit into a ten by ten. I am so happy I did that. This week I took winter things over dail and brought back summer things. It is so handy. So read this to your mom. Maybe it will encourage her to make a decision to move. I hope so for your sake and theirs!!

    Love,

    Bev
