  • It's been a while since I have made a new entry. I have just been busy and running. My Mom wasn't doing well for a while--she's some better now. Johns parents have been having a lot of health problems--live out in the country and refuse to move to town--makes it hard to help them--Johns Dad has the beginnings of alzheimers-can't be left alone--his Mom has bad diabetes and has started falling-they have a son that lives next door-he's about 50--doesn't work-only comes over to borrow money-refuses to help.-Any way-you get the picture--not sure what we are going to do--I understand they want to live out their life out there-but it's just not safe.Sounds like I'm whining-I know-so I will stop there for now. Trudy-I am so sorry to hear of  the loss of your Father--love you my friend--wish I was closer.

  • Sorry your mom hasn't been doing well-hope she continues to do better and better.    Maybe after a while John's parents will decide to move to town.  you can only do what you can do for them in the country. 

  • Sorry you are dealing with so much and some of it not really able to control. Every family has one of those moochers. Too bad he won't help his parents.

  • Glad that you posted, but sorry to learn of the problems.   Do hope that your Mother continues to get better and  hopefully there will be some way to help John's parents..

  • I don't think that's "whining" at all!!!   Been there, done, what you're going through right now, with an elderly aunt...now deceased.   You know, I LOVE living here in my farm home, but I certainly hope I have sense enough to leave when it begins to cause worry for my kids.   I'm thinking, I'll go straight from here to an assisted living apartment.  Meals will be furnished, apartment will be cleaned once a week, and if I don't show up for a meal, someone will check to see if I'm O.K.   We have 3, really nice ones, about 30 minutes from my kids.  Seems like a good plan to me.

  • Once again xanga isn't letting me know you exist. Boy I hear the sibling stuff. You may end up getting a power of atty to protect his folks finances from the leech.

  • I dont' think you are whining either.  Your plate is full and with good reason, you have

    some major issues to consider.   I 'd be concerned as well.   Happily, we canceled

    the magazine subscription.   It's just one more debt, we don't need right now.  Still

    paying many medical bills, RX's prescriptions, and many other things as well.  I did

    send a note to myt bank, to tell them we didn't want the magazine.  Anyway, will

    keep you in my prayers, Riding_Hood
