  • Not sure that's a lady bug.   I think that's one of those Asian beetles, we around here call, Halloween beetles.  During the fall they come through any crack in order to hibernate in the houses and garages.  You may remember my blogging about them about 3 years ago.  They were HORRIBLE around here.  This year, not so many here.

  • whatever it is I think it's neat looking-I guess it isn't a Lady Bug.  Seems the head is sticking out alot further than a Lady Bug's would stick out!

  • an Asian beetle, I think ~ they are pests around here ~ unwelcome!  Ladybugs are very welcome, however ~

  • @GrannyHummingbird - I do remember that--hope they don't get bad around here !

  • @KarensPotpourri2 - I thought it was cool looking too but not it's a pest !!!!

  • @fwren - Glad to know what it is--I knew we had never seen green lady bugs around here

  • We have mostly reddish lady beetles, bus once in awhile a yellowish one....maybe out in the sun to long and just was bleached lighter???   We buy lady beetles every year and turn them loose in the yard.  They love eating aphids and other nasty little bugs.  When they get in the house, I just capture the and turn them loose back to the outdoors.  They seem to love my dill and that is where they lay their eggs.  So when that occurs, no more harvesting dill.   lol

  • Is this beautiful insect really a lady bug .? Nice picture Maggie.

  • Glad someone pointed out to you it isn't a lady bug. My mom had those pests back in PA and she said they not only stink they sting. or bite whatever, she didn't want them on her.

  • @thistlepatch - Around here we have lady bugs that just come natural I guess. We see them every yer on our roses

  • @BLB - I'm glad too Bonnie cause I had never seen them before until this fall.
