  • One more thing I need help with

John has been on a 3 day work week for a couple of weeks now--and he's looking at taking that early retirement--so from all you experienced ladys out there--how the heck do I keep from killing him and burying him in the back yard?????????????????--Guess I'm just used to being here alone---right behind me,,,,,,turns the tv everytime I leave the room,,,,,,,,,,. Ok I'm just kidding--I'm not ready to kill him yet,,,,,,,,,but I thought ya'll might have a few suggestions just in case,,,,,,,,,,,,you know--something to put the fear of God in him,,,,,,,short of digging that hole,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I have about 3 weeks left before he will be here full time,,,,,,,

  • This made me laugh ~ I'm facing the same thing in a few years ~ and I know it may drive us both crazy for awhile ~ LOL!  Gonna take a lot of prayer, I think ~

  • @fwren - Well put in an extra prayer for me and I will add one for you !

  • My M-I-L called and told me after dad had been home a couple of weeks that retirement is not all that it is cracked up to be.  Bobby and I can't make it a week before we get into a donnybrook.

  • @mommachatter - Oh I'm sure we will have a fuss or 2 or 5000 !!-But I think we will get over it and make it thru !

  • @KarensPotpourri2 - then bless you--the toils we go thru with these men !! (but we wouldn't trade them for nothing huh?)

  • get in your car and say,"lunch will be ready at 12:30 see you then.

he will find things to amuse himself.

The boss at my hubby's work wrote on the blackboard "get out and stay out."

Just put up with it and he will find his routine on his own but sometimes it takes them awhile but where I go in town he doesn't want to go so I just kept doing what I always do and didn't change for him.

  • LOL.  my hubby retired in 2000.  Haven't killed him yet.  Have been having to learn to let somethings go in one ear and out the other.  It helps to have a room to get off by yourself.  Since 2007, has been hard for me as the tamoxifen I'm on can make me a real grouch some days.  Arthritis doesn't help.  But hubby still alive.  Good thing he is easy-going.   Good Luck.

  • @TheSunnyC - Tell him leaving you and your stuff alone is cheaper than a motel room that you are going to take if he doesn't have a very interesting hobby or part time job.  Thank heaven for Wil's farm in many respects.  Sure keeps him out of my hair most of the time.  There are still many times we  need apart time.  Remember Wil took early retirement buy out at age 55.  If I'd known then what I know now I'd have insisted he take one of the many outside consultants jobs he was offered.  We were too young to retire in my estimation

  • @thistlepatch - Oh I am sure we will have our days--but I bet we will learn as time goes on.

  • @TheSunnyC - He has a shop he piddles in and him and our son build motors--so if he gets in my way to much -I will tell him to come help me in the kitchen--that usually sends him running for the shop ! We're both 62(well I am and he will be in March)--so I'm hoping it will be the right thing to do

  • You changed your layout now like everyone else using xanga stuff you are in a narrow strip down the middle. You need to go into the html if you want to center your header too. I think center is beginning and end but ask someone that knows html.

Wait til John turns on every light in the house but doesn't turn them off when he leaves the room.

Give him some work that has needed done. That should get him out from under foot.

  • I used the < symbols by center, they got eaten.

  • @BLB - I have no idea why my page changed--I guess I clicked on something and I dont know how to unclick it !!!

  • You clicked on their new editor and page layout I'm sure. They keep asking me I keep ignoring them. Going through their help section would tell you how to get back but it would be a search. If I find the time I'll look for the link for you.

  • My mom said the same thing but Praise God she has not killed him yet but I understand it has been close

  • @Umnenga - Sounds like I need some advice from your  Mom !!!
